INDUSTRIAL DUTY FIBERGLASS SHELTERS
For Highly Corrosive & Marine Locations
Shelter Application
Our Industrial Duty Fiberglass Shelters are intended for
Chemical Processing or Waste water treatment areas where
corrosive vapors such as Hydrogen Sulfide or Chlorine
are present and offshore or coastal areas where
salt-laden air or saltwater spray is prevalent. Beyond
corrosion resistance, the coating material utilized
includes a glass fiber reinforced Class1 flame-retardant
resin and UV resistance gel coating that is available in
a variety of colors.
Construction Method
Shelter Wall
Rib frame is fabricated of 80mm x 80mm x 3mm and 50mm x
50mm x 2mm metal tubes and then filled with Polyurethane
foam insulation. The inner and outer surfaces shall
receive a spray coating of catalyst and resin based Gel
and chop-sprayed glass fibers. Material shall then be
roller pressed to remove all trapped air and embed all
fibers within the coating strata. The Exterior shall
then be lightly sanded, utilizing a combination of soft
pad side grinders and orbital sanders to obtain a smooth
finish and free of any visible blemishes or raised
fibers.
The surface shall receive a Flame-retardant Resin and
Maine Grade UV Resistant Gel Coating Materials.
Shelter Roof
Roof frame is made of 50mm x 50mm x 3mm Metal Tubes and
then filled with Polyurethane foam insulation. Top and
bottom cover of the roof would be made of 6mm thick
smooth GRP.
For applications where climate is severe, slope of 4
inches per foot (4/12) is provided suitable for heavy
rain or snow.
The surface shall receive a Flame-retardant Resin and
Maine Grade UV Resistant Gel Coating Materials.
Shelter Flooring
Bottom steel frame would be made of 80mm x 80mm x 3mm
profiles. Over that a layer of 1.5mm thick Polyester
Resin Lamination, 18mm thick BWP Grade Plywood and 4mm
thick White Vinyl Tiles would be fixed respectively.
Door
One piece made of Resin Transfer Molded in matched metal
molds, smooth finished, seamless, monolithic, warp-free
composite consisting of gel-coat, fiberglass
reinforcement, polyester resin, insulating core and
internal reinforcements with all mortises, openings,
recesses and pockets molded in place as required.
